Terms of Service
These are the same Terms shown inside the Vararuchi app, published here for transparency. See also the Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Vararuchi, you explicitly agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We record the date and version of your acceptance.
2. Account
- You must be 18 years or older to create an account (or have verifiable parental consent if under 18).
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure.
- One account per person. Sharing accounts is prohibited.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or abuse the AI systems.
- Submit content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or infringes third-party rights.
- Use automation, bots, scripts, crawlers, or any programmatic means to make requests to the service — all access must be through the official Vararuchi web application.
- Access, attempt to access, or build products on top of any internal API, endpoint, or data feed without express written permission from Devarua Labs.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or extract AI model responses for use outside the platform, including training competing AI models or reselling AI outputs.
- Circumvent subscription limits or Spark credits.
- Resell, sub-license, or resell AI responses generated by the platform.
- Use AI-generated content from this platform in violation of your institution's academic integrity policies. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of AI-generated content complies with any applicable academic, professional, or institutional rules.
4. Academic integrity policy
Vararuchi provides AI writing and study assistance tools for learning purposes. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content produced by this platform must be used in compliance with all applicable academic integrity rules, examination regulations, and institutional policies.
- Submitting AI-generated content as your own original work without proper disclosure, where prohibited by your institution, is a violation of these Terms and may constitute academic misconduct.
- Vararuchi is not responsible for any academic, professional, or institutional consequences arising from your use of AI-generated content.
- The AI tools on this platform are intended to help you understand, draft, and improve your own work — not to replace your learning.
5. Subscriptions & payments
- No auto-renewal. All plans are one-time purchases. Your plan grants access for the stated period (30 or 365 days) and then expires — it does not automatically charge you again.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay (PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant). We never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details.
- Refund policy: You may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase through Settings → Billing History, no questions asked. Refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. Your account is downgraded to the Free plan upon refund.
- Spark top-up refunds: Refunds on top-up purchases are available within 7 days only if no Sparks from that top-up have been consumed. Partial consumption makes the top-up ineligible for refund.
- GST: All prices are inclusive of 18% GST under Indian law. A payment confirmation email is sent after each purchase. GST tax invoices are available for download from Settings → Billing History.
- Student Plan — eligibility: The discounted Student Plan is currently only available to students enrolled at recognized universities and colleges in India (verified via institutional email ending in
.ac.in,.edu.in, or an individually approved domain). Students at international institutions should contact admin@vararuchi.com for manual verification.
6. AI-generated content & educational limitations
AI responses are generated by large language models and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. Vararuchi is an educational supplement only — it does not replace qualified teachers, accredited educational institutions, or professional advice. Specifically:
- AI tutoring responses are not vetted by certified educators and may contain factual errors.
- Career guidance is informational only and does not constitute professional career counselling.
- We make no guarantee of exam results, academic grades, or career outcomes.
- Do not rely on AI responses for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
You retain ownership of content you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it solely to provide the requested AI features. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
7. Intellectual property
Vararuchi, its logo, design system, software code, and AI-generated platform content (such as help articles, onboarding flows, and structured curricula) are the intellectual property of Devarua Labs. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without written permission.
8. Copyright & DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe any content on Vararuchi infringes your copyright, please contact our designated Copyright Agent:

- Your notice must include: (1) identification of the copyrighted work; (2) identification of the infringing material and its location; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement of good faith belief; (5) a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury.
- We will investigate and remove alleged infringing content within 36 hours of a valid notice and notify the affected user.
- Our obligations are consistent with the Information Technology Act, 2000 § 79 (India) and DMCA § 512 (where applicable).
Counter-notice: If your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to admin@vararuchi.com including: (1) your contact information; (2) identification of the removed material; (3) a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was made in error; (4) your consent to jurisdiction of Kerala courts. Content may be restored within 10–14 business days if no court action is filed.
9. Service availability & disclaimer of warranties
We target 99% monthly uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for losses resulting from service outages, data loss due to user error, or third-party provider failures.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Any links or references to third-party websites or services within the platform are provided for convenience only. Vararuchi has no control over and accepts no responsibility for third-party content, privacy practices, or services.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DEVARUA LABS AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
IN ANY EVENT, VARARUCHI'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO VARARUCHI IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ₹100 (ONE HUNDRED INDIAN RUPEES).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CERTAIN TYPES OF DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Devarua Labs and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the service in violation of these Terms; (b) content you submit, post, or transmit through the service; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms with notice sent to the email address on your account where reasonably practicable. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Privacy → Delete My Account.
If your content is removed for a community guideline violation, you may appeal by emailing admin@vararuchi.com within 7 days. We will respond within 48 hours and resolve within 30 days.
13. Governing law & dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Palakkad, Kerala, India. International users acknowledge and accept this choice of law.
14. Grievance Officer
As required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we have designated a Grievance Officer:

15. Data retention
- Learning and usage data is retained for as long as your account is active. Delete all data at any time via Settings → Delete Account.
- Payment records are retained for 6 years as required by the GST Act, 2017, even after account deletion.
- Server access logs are retained for 90 days for security and abuse investigation.

17. Feedback & suggestions
Any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or feature requests you provide to Vararuchi — through the Help Center, email, or any other channel — are provided on a non-confidential basis. Vararuchi may freely use, implement, modify, and incorporate such feedback without any obligation of compensation, acknowledgment, or attribution to you.
18. Third-party links
The service may contain links to external websites or services. Vararuchi is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of third-party websites. Access to third-party sites is entirely at your own risk.
19. Entire agreement & severability
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Vararuchi with respect to the service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. The remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
20. Accessibility statement
Vararuchi is committed to making its platform accessible to users with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and follow Indian accessibility standards under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
- All interactive controls include keyboard navigation and focus management.
- Dialog boxes and modals include ARIA roles and focus trapping.
- Images and icons include
aria-labeloraltattributes where informative. - Colour contrast meets WCAG AA minimums for primary text.
- AI-generated content includes visible disclaimer text of at least 12px font size.
We are actively improving accessibility. If you encounter a barrier, please contact us at admin@vararuchi.com and we will respond within 5 business days. We will work with you to provide accessible access to the information or feature.
Community guidelines
The Vararuchi Help Center community is a space for students and learners to help each other. To keep it useful and safe:
- Be respectful. Treat others with courtesy. No harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.
- Stay on topic. Posts should relate to using Vararuchi or educational topics.
- No spam or self-promotion. Do not post unsolicited promotions, links, or repeated content.
- No illegal content. Do not post content that violates laws or third-party rights (copyright, privacy, etc.).
- Accurate information. Do not deliberately spread misinformation.
Reporting & moderation: If you see a post that violates these guidelines, use the Report button on the post. Reported content is reviewed by our team. Repeated violations may result in account suspension. To report urgent concerns, email admin@vararuchi.com.
